DNA Portrait Day is about more than beautiful poses and costumes. It's about capturing the confidence, personality and joy of each dancer, and celebrating everything they've achieved throughout their dance year.
From graceful poses to big leaps and cheeky smiles, these are the moments that deserve to be remembered long after the costumes have been packed away.
2026 marks my fifth year partnering with DNA Performing Arts to capture these special memories. As both a photographer and a proud DNA dance mum, I know just how much heart, hard work and commitment goes into every dance year. It's been a privilege watching so many dancers grow in confidence and talent over the years, and I'm excited to capture another year of memories.

Register your preferred dates and time blocks for DNA Portrait Day 2026.
Sessions will be allocated progressively on a first-come, first-served basis, so register early for the best chance of securing your preferred date and time.
Venue: DNA, Studio 4
Available Dates:

Saturday 21 November: Junior school dancers only

Saturday 5 December: Senior school dancers, including families with dancers in both Junior and Senior school

Session Times:
All portrait days run from 10:30am to 4:30pm, with three available time blocks:

12:30pm – 2:30pm

2:30pm – 4:30pm
Each dancer requires their own 15-minute session. Siblings and friends can request back-to-back sessions using the form below.
Please note: Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee a booking.
Your allocated session will be confirmed once you receive your booking details and complete payment within the required timeframe.

Before your Session
Your portrait session is the perfect opportunity to capture the magic of your dancer's 2026 dance year!
Feel free to bring along their favourite costumes, including any from previous years that still fit. With just 15 minutes per dancer, having costumes organised and ready for quick changes will help us make the most of your session.
Please arrive a little early, with your dancer dressed in their first costume and hair and makeup completed, so they're relaxed and ready to go at their allocated time.
Think of it like Show Day! Remove nail polish and temporary tattoos, ensure dance shoes are clean, and check costumes for any last-minute adjustments. Additional retouching, such as removing nail polish or marks, may incur a fee per image.
Have something special in mind? Whether it's a favourite pose, a particular costume or a creative idea, please let me know before your session so we can plan accordingly.
I can't wait to capture some beautiful memories of your dancer!
After your Session
Following your portrait session, I'll carefully select and subtly edit the best images of your dancer, ensuring each portrait looks its best.
I'll also create a personalised collage featuring some of my favourite shots, giving you a glimpse of how your favourite images could look together.
Once your portraits are ready, they'll be uploaded to your private online gallery, where you can view, select and purchase your favourite images.
Every dancer deserves my attention to detail, so please be patient while I work through each session. I aim to have galleries ready as promptly as possible without compromising on quality.

Pricing and Your Gallery
The sitting fee is $30 per dancer/session, payable within 48 hours of receiving your booking confirmation instructions. If payment isn't received within this timeframe, your allocated session may be released to another family.
Individual digital images: From $13.
Bonus Image Offer: Purchase one image of your dancer and receive a second image of the same dancer FREE!
Once your gallery is ready, I'll email you the login details. Your gallery is private and password-protected, meaning only those who have been provided with the password can access and view your portraits.
Within your gallery, you'll be able to view and select the images you'd like to purchase, including your bonus image.

How the Booking Process Works
Step 1 – Register Your Interest
Complete the form with your preferred dates and time blocks. Selecting multiple options increases the likelihood of securing a suitable appointment.
Step 2 – Session Allocation
Expressions of interest are processed in the order received. I'll do my best to accommodate preferences, including back-to-back sessions for siblings and friends wherever possible.
Step 3 – Receive Your Allocated Time
I'll email you with your allocated 15-minute session time or offer alternative times if your preferences are unavailable.
Step 4 – Confirm Your Booking
Once your session time has been agreed upon, you'll receive booking and payment instructions. Your allocated time will be held for 48 hours from the booking email. If payment isn't received, the time may be released to another family.
Important: Submitting an EOI does not guarantee a booking or preferred time. Appointments are only confirmed once the sitting fee has been paid.
